English Nature Heathland Consultation Zones

Following advice issued by Natural England and their concerns about the impact of development on heathland habitat and species, the Borough of Poole along with Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Purbeck Councils have produced and adopted the Dorset Heathlands Interim Planning Framework 2006-09. The Interim Framework provides a short term solution to the additional urban pressures that are generated by new housing development within 5km of protected heathland.

We have scanned copies of the consultation zone maps provided by English Nature and you can now view them.
