Seeking Parents' Views on Childcare

Thousands of parents are being asked to give their views on childcare services in Poole.

Borough of Poole's Child Care survey will help to build a comprehensive picture of childcare in Poole and inform future decisions made about services.

All parents and carers of children aged 14 or under are invited to take part in the survey, even if they do not currently use childcare services.

Cllr Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children's Social Service's, Education and Youth Services, said: "We need to understand parent and carer requirements for childcare to ensure that there is sufficient supply in Poole. The information obtained from the survey will help the council and other childcare providers to make the right decisions about the provision of future services in Poole. If you receive one of these surveys, please take a few minutes to complete and return it to us."

The Child Care survey is being mailed to 3,500 parents and carers across the borough.

Parents and carers are asked to return their completed surveys by October 26, using the freepost envelope provided.

Follow-up research will be carried out with parents and carers later in the year. The survey results and feedback on the provision of local childcare services will be reported in future editions of the council's newspaper, Poole News, and at www.boroughofpoole.com/opinions.
