Poole's CCTV Network Extended

The latest addition to Poole's CCTV system has recently been commissioned in time for the busy festive season.

A new camera, located in the High Street near Yates Wine Bar, covers a blind spot in the system network. The new camera provides a valuable link in the chain which covers Poole Town from the Quay to the Bus Station and will be a valuable asset in the fight against retail crime and anti-social behaviour.

Cllr Ann Stribley, Poole's Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Chairman of Poole Safe Together Partnership, said: "Funded by the Poole Safe Together Partnership this is a fine example of the community working to provide a safer environment for residents and visitors to enjoy when visiting Poole town."

The whole CCTV system is operated by the Borough of Poole with direct radio links to the Police, Members of the Poole Against Retailer Crime scheme ( PARC) and Pub Watch. Its operation is regularly enhanced by members of Poole Police, who are trained CCTV operators working alongside Borough of Poole staff, sharing knowledge and experience.
