GETTING WEBWISE AT THE LIBRARY

Poole residents are being given the opportunity to surf the World Wide Web for free.

Libraries throughout Poole are teaming up with the BBC to offer free 'Webwise' taster sessions on how to use the internet. If you are a mystified mum or dad who wants to reclaim the family computer from your teenager's bedroom, or simply to be able to tell a 'search engine' from a 'hot link', then help is at hand.

Poole Reference Librarian, Jenny Oliver, said :"There is so much to be found on the internet. Webwise provides an opportunity for those people who would like to know more about how the technology works."

The Webwise campaign is supported by a colourful array of programmes on BBC television and radio, led by a host of star names including Terry Wogan and Vanessa Feltz. There is also a website to visit at www.bbc.co.uk/webwise.

Webwise disks are available to use at all Poole libraries, so to book your free session simply contact your local library. There is even a certificate for those who successfully complete the disk!
