The beach at Sandbanks has been awarded the European 'Blue Flag' for 21 years which indicates the beaches have consistently met high standards of management and cleanliness.
In peak season it is ensured that the sands are sifted, cleaned and raked on a regular basis, in addition litter is cleared throughout the day. Specific dog-free zones and activity areas for boarders and swimmers are part of our commitment to you, to provide a relaxing, fun and safe time for all ages.
Lifeguards are present at the Sandbanks Beach Office from 1 May to 30 September and observe the area which are clearly marked by the 'Red and Yellow Flags' from 10am - 6pm. Please do not swim when the red flags are flying.
It is an ideal place to visit with or without children. Canoes and pedalos are available for hire and there is a dedicated 'launch' zone for windsurfers. Tuition is available for both windsurfing and catarmaran sailing at nearby Shore Road.
Beach Office staff at Sandbanks administer all Poole's beaches, and any enquiries about Lost Property should be directed to them.
