Community Gardening - COAST Project
COAST supports people with learning disability work as volunteers helping to grow food produce for a local charity. The team also support people with a learning disability maintain gardens for community groups, and isolated older people living in Poole who are unable to look after their gardens anymore.
- We work in partnership with Poole Foodbank, Faithworks, The Church of The Good Shepherd, and Poole East Girl Guides Association.
- Small teams work at our allotment and other sites (with poly-tunnels) in the borough, carrying out a variety of tasks for growing vegetables, salads, and plants.
- Small teams help older people by carrying out a variety of garden maintenance tasks.
